Pickle Virgin Mary Mocktail

Once you get past the elaborate garnishes, The Bloody Mary becomes quite simple. Just a base of tomato juice, some spice, some salt, and a bit of umami creates the most popular of the savory cocktails, even before you throw in the vodka. Here we use the brine from a jar of pickles instead of Vodka to give a bit of an unexpected sour and briny punch. It’s a delicious non-alcoholic twist on the classic drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz pickle juice
  • 1 dash Green Hot Sauce (I used green tabasco)
  • 1 dash Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 oz Ice
  • 3 oz Tomato Juice
  • Pickle Spear (For Garnish)

Steps

  1. Add Hot Sauce, Worcestershire Sauce, and Tomato Juice to a glass and stir
  2. Add Ice and stir again
  3. Add Tomato Juice and Stir a final time
  4. Garnish with a Pickle Spear
